Swinburne Spaceworks operates a significant rendering facility as part of the Centre for Astrophyics and Supercomputings Supercomputer. The entire supercomputer has a theoretical peak operating capacity of 10.0 Terraflops. Each node is a Dell Power Edge 1950 each with:
2 quad-core Clovertown processors at 2.33 GHz
(each processor is 64-bit low-volt Intel Xeon 5138)
16 GB RAM
The Clovertown processors offer performance gains with increased performance-per-Watt over previous processors. With such a large amount of RAM, the machines are
capable of rendering tasks that would normally require multiple passes, increase the rendering output and lowering times of jobs. The render farm currently supports 3D Studio
Max 9, Lightwave 9.2 with various plugins.
The render farm is available for hire for rendering in small, medium and large scale projects. Contact Us for more information. Note
