2dF: The 2 Degree Field Galaxy Redshift Survey

This animated movie was produced in conjunction with the Anglo-Australian Observatory to mark the discovery of the 100,000th galaxy mapped by the 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey. The survey mapped the locations of nearly 250,000 galaxies within the nearby universe. A Fight Through the Universe shows just what it would be like to fly through the 2dF Survey.
